A brief history

Mullaghmore House is a Georgian period, Grade B+ Listed property.

It stands on a 4-acre site, incorporating numerous out buildings, including old tax barns, coach houses, stables, hay lofts and a stone cobbled yard.

This site is steeped in history and most notably the recent renovation work revealed a standing stone within the grounds.

An old abbey!
An archaeologist has stated that, the main house quoin stones are far too large to have been part of the existing dwelling, and suggests that it may have been the site for a building along the lines of an abbey.

And we are famous too…
It is worth noting the history of Mullaghmore House through the times from a plantation residence, a Town Land house and parent house to Knock-Na-Moe Castle.

More recent history includes the house being the birth place of Sir John Gorman and Jurassic Park lead actor Sam Neill.
