Successful Community Group Projects

Mullaghmore House’s Centre of Excellence provides vocational skills training in several specialist fields, for a diverse network of participants. We also help people looking for business diversity, such as within the e.g. farming community, and several community groups have already benefited from our help.
In August 2004 the ‘Ashfield Development Project’ completed work on a sandstone monument to mark the entrance into their housing area. The residents took ownership of the project, its design, and developed new skills by completing courses in ‘Stone Wall Building’ and ‘Health & Safety’.
The “Donegal Tyrone Partnership” worked with us to provide a group of students with learning disabilities with new skills in Glass Painting, Card Art, Tiffany Glass and Willow Basket Weaving.
Manchester University, as part of their BA (HONS) Degree course in ‘Restoration & Conservation’ regularly send their students to Mullaghmore to gain invaluable experience in a practical business environment, and making a profit in the outside world, outside the comfort of a University classroom.
Working with people from all areas of the community broadens all of our knowledge and opens up many new areas. If you are a community group leader looking for an activity based learning experience we can help. So please contact us on mullaghmorehouse@aol.com
We have two excellent projects awaiting a team to take up the challenge. The Revolving Sun House and the Stone Gate house ideal group projects for both men and women.
