It's a pain, these windows.
8/7/2008

Our workshop is flat out restoring sash windows. Each sash and frame is cleaned and stripped of it's paint using our heated potassium stripping tank. This also gives any livestock a hell of a headache. Just like the bleach advert claims it kills all known woodworm dead!

Then placed in our drying store until the correct moisture content is achieved. Then the fun begins each pain of glass is removed without breakages cleaned and set aside. The woodwork reset, spliced and reglued. All ready for the clean glass to be reputtyed into place.

A fun labour intensive time is had by all.

Some of our latest window restoration projects have included:

  • The famous Castle Leslie Estate Glaslough, County Monaghan.
  • St Louis Secondary School, Monaghan.
  • Scoil Mhic Dara, County Galway.
  • St Columbas Nursing Home, Galway, County galway.

Or next time your are passing Cavan Town Hall why not have a look and admire your reflection in the perfectly restored windows.
